Nagpur - Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, General Secretary of the
RSS, has agreed to change its uniform from khaki shorts to brown trousers.
When asked for the reason, he said 'Well, we've seen this
increase in rape across India, and we believe this is happening because of
revealing clothing. Our volunteers have said that during their drills, they
have also noticed women looking at their legs. So, the time has come to get rid
of the shorts and replace them with more conservative trousers. They will go
all the way past the ankles.'
Added a volunteer at a local Shakha 'I am happy about this
change. At a recent riot I was separated from my group and attacked by locals.
Unfortunately, I soiled myself and that was visible from the khaki shorts. If I
had the new brown trousers on, no one would have noticed.'
